Salinas Airport (IATA: IAL, ICAO: SNSS) is a public regional airport serving the city of Salinas in northern Minas Gerais, Brazil. Situated approximately 11 km from downtown Salinas, the airport operates under the Brazilian Standard Time Zone (BRT, UTC−03:00) and sits at an elevation of 763 meters (2,503 feet) above sea level. It features a single asphalt runway (18/36) measuring 1,480 meters (4,856 feet) in length .
The airport is owned and operated by the local municipal government . In December 2023, Azul Conecta, a subsidiary of Azul Brazilian Airlines, commenced direct flights between Salinas and Belo Horizonte's Confins International Airport (CNF). These flights are scheduled three times a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—and are operated using Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft, which accommodate up to nine passengers .
This new air service enhances connectivity for Salinas, a city renowned as Brazil’s "cachaça capital," and supports regional economic development by improving access to broader domestic and international networks through Belo Horizonte .
